People who frequently re-post content will be suspended from Facebook’s monetization programs.
You know when you’re watching a reel on social media from one of your favorite content creators, and then it turns out that someone else actually just copied and re-posted the video? Facebook has a plan to crack down on that. People who frequently re-post content will be suspended from Facebook’s monetization programs. And when Facebook detects a re-post, it will push that video down in the algorithm so it doesn’t get as many views. Meta is also testing out software that would link back to the original video, so you could give the creator an impression (and possibly some revenue). So far, there’s no word on whether Meta plans to deploy these programs to Instagram or Threads. But at least it will help real content creators get paid.
