Michael G. Sarafa is a co-founder and Managing Director of Vision Growth Partners (VGP), headquartered in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. VGP focuses on the sourcing and acquisition of small and mid-cap companies or franchise opportunities with a specialty in retail-oriented service businesses. Sarafa’s career spans nearly 30 years in management, law, finance and government. Sarafa is currently the CEO of a VPG portfolio company, Super C Group, LLC dba Alline Salon Group (ASG). Under Sarafa’s leadership, ASG has grown to 392 salon locations in seven states in under three years to become Regis Corporation’s largest system-wide franchisee. Alline is also the largest franchisee for each of its three brands: Supercuts, Cost Cutters and Holiday Hair. In addition to building and supervising the management team, Sarafa oversees the relationship with the franchisor, lenders, and other strategic partners. In addition to sourcing growth opportunities, Sarafa takes ownership of building a state-of-the-art culture and has endeavored with some success to make the Alline Salon Group the employer brand of choice in the value segment of the hair industry. Prior to this, Sarafa served as President & CEO of Bank of Michigan from 2005-2015 before successfully negotiating a merger with Level One Bank in the last quarter of 2015. The deal multiple was amongst the highest in the region for similarly sized institutions that year. He and other investors organized the Farmington Hills, Michigan bank in January of 2005. Under Sarafa’s leadership, the bank successfully weathered the worst financial crisis in over 80 years, raised capital in difficult markets and was amongst the top performing community banks in the country of similar size in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Sarafa has degrees from Wayne State Law School, the University of Pennsylvania and Michigan State University. He serves on the boards of numerous civic and charitable organizations and is an avid reader and tennis player. Sarafa is married with three college age children
