NYC To Receive 14.6M Towards Bike & Pedestrian Upgrades

Yesterday Governor Andre Cuomo announced that New York state will be allocating millions of dollars to fun a couple of new projects that are set to create more bike lanes, pedestrian walk ways, and upgrades to already existing streets. The bulk of these upgrades will be taking place on Roosevelt & Randall's Island, all in part of the Harlem River Bridges plan.

On Roosevelt Island there is 5 Million going towards creating new ramps for cyclists and pedestrians. Then there will also be connections from Manhattan to the Bronx to make it easier on people walking on foot between the boroughs.

According to Curbed.com "The infrastructure investments are part of a $144.6 million initiative to invest in 72 projects statewide, with the goal of supporting access to public transportation, roadway safety, and improved pedestrian spaces."

But can they fix the MTA though?
