Kevin Hart appeared on The Ellen Show and she tried very hard in persuading him to host the Oscars next month for the good it can bring. His explanation as to why he is leaning toward not hosting went viral and it made a lot of sense. When the Oscars dug up his old tweets that were offensive to the LGBTQ community, Hart took it as a personal attack against his career and character. The tweets were from over 8 years ago in which he apologized already. Being that this was a moment in the past and the Oscars forcefully made him apologize again, he felt as if they were personally trying to diminish his name.
Kevin Hart has shot down all Oscar talk and noted that he is simply too busy to host this year. With new movies, his comedy, and whatever else he has going on, Kev pretty much said "I'm good luv, enjoy." Here is what he said verbatim on Good Morning America;
"I am not hosting the Oscars this year... right now, from a time perspective, I don't have the time, I like to call myself a perfectionist. I would want to make sure the production is a great representation of me and my talent." He might consider hosting "in the future [...] but it's not the conversation of today."
