Lil Baby has easily become one of the biggest break out artists in Hip-Hop this year. With songs such as "Yes Indeed" with Drake and "Drip To Hard" with Gunna charting he looks to continue his success with his new project "Street Gossip" which is dropping this Friday (November 30th). Stopping by The Angie Martinez show he talked about missing his Powerhouse NYC set, gave a little insight about the project, as well as speaking on his record with Tekashi 6ix9ine + more!
Our annual PowerhouseNYC concert went down on October 28th with major performances from Cardi B, SZA, Lil Uzi Vert, as well as surprise performances from A Boogie, Tekashi 6ix9ine + much more. Someone noticeably missing from the show was Lil Baby himself. While he was on the main lineup he explained that something went wrong in the Atlanta airport that caused him to miss his flight, saying that he was even offering people money at that point for their ticket. He felt extremely bad about missing the show saying it was the first show he has ever missed + he promised to make it up to his friends.
To celebrate his new album release he is set to do his first ever concert in his hometown of Atlanta. He wanted to do the concert to give back to the city, celebrate the album release as well as his Birthday which is December 3rd! Speaking on "Street Gossip" he says that he has a couple features on it including Meek Mill, Young Thug and frequent collaborator Gunna.
Baby also has a brand new record out with Tekashi 6ix9ine called "Tic Toc" which is off his "Dummy Boy" project. While Tekashi is currently locked up for another year (Until September 2019) awaiting trial, Baby spoke a bit about what it was like to work with him. Stating that they have been friends for a while before he even started rapping and while Tekashi is being accused of a lot of things Baby knows nothing of the stuff he was involved in, just who he was as a friend.
