Anderson .Paak Talks Mac Miller, Dr. Dre Producing His Album, + Voting


Anderson .Paak is gearing up to release his new "Oxnard" album on November 16th. Stopping by The Angie Martinez show he spoke about the new project which was produced by Dr. Dre, his good friend Mac Miller & the importance of voting in the midterm elections today.

Paak's new album "Oxnard" is inspired by the town that he grew up in saying that the town "It’s in Ventura county so it’s a pretty small town, its always know as the city between LA and Santa Barba". He also spoke about how it is one of those towns where no one messes with you when you're coming up in the game no one cares but then once your popping everyone wants to be your friend. With that the project was executive produced by the legend himself Dr. Dre featuring Kadhja Bonet, Norelle, Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Cocoa Sarai, Pusha T, Snoop Dogg, The Last Artful, Snoop Dogg & The Last Artful, Dodgr, Q-Tip, BJ the Chicago Kid

When Angie asked about how long it to Kendrick Lamar to get his verse for their record in he revealed it actually took him a year and a half to record the verse and send it. He also then spoke on how Dre produced the project saying “he don’t like anything, like Dre listening to this, and like Nah n***** trashes not caught up in hype so if he feel it he feel it, if not he don’t”. Anderson lastly spoke on how the album is the type of project he's always wanted to make, “this album is trying to be the same man in a new car, it’s the album ive always wanted to make, it’s creative bliss”.
