Police in Georgia say they believe a body that was pulled out of a pond is the son of Lil Jon, who was reported missing earlier this week.

On Friday, February 6, the Milton Police Department announced divers with the Cherokee County Fire Department discovered a body in a pond in Mayfield Park near the home of Young Slade, born Nathan Smith. In a statement, police say that they believe it is Smith's body, but are awaiting confirmation from the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.

"Based on the investigation to date, there is no indication of foul play," the statement reads.

The Milton Police Department issued a missing person alert for Nathan Smith at the beginning of the week. The 27-year-old artist was last seen at his home on Baldwin Drive in Milton on Monday morning around 6 a.m.

“[Smith] ran out of his house and has been missing since,” police said in a statement. “[Smith] left on foot and does not possess a phone. He may be disoriented and in need of assistance. Family and friends are concerned for his safety.”

Law enforcement and Lil Jon's family had been actively searching for Smith for the past few days. There was a heavy police presence at Mayfield Lake, which sits along Baldwin Drive, but the search shifted toward Mayfield Park. Before the search ended, Lil Jon issued a statement and requested privacy.

“The family is asking for privacy at this time," he told TMZ. "We are also asking for continued prayers for Nathan to come home safe. Thank you.”

As of this report, Lil Jon and his family have not commented on the latest update.
