Rihanna Sparks Pregnancy Rumors At Diamond Ball

If you let Rihanna fans tell it, she's going to have a baby before she releases another album.

The 31-year-old singer turned business mogul had all of the Rihanna Navy talking after she appeared to hint that she was expecting a baby girl during an interview with Essence at her 5th annual Diamond Ball Thursday night (September 12). "I’m a black woman. I came from a black woman, who came from a black woman, who came from a black woman, and I’m going to give birth to a black woman," she told the mag. "My mother is an incredible example of how to fight through obstacles in life. I’m sure her mom taught her that and that’s how I’m going to be. We are impeccable, we’re special, we’re special and the world is going to have to deal with that."

It was Rihanna's line about "giving birth" to a black woman that truly sent the Internet into a tailspin. Later in the night, baby rumors intensified when she hit the Diamond Ball stage to perform and some fans claimed she looked pregnant. (To note, that's just rude!)

However, not all Rih Rih fans were on board with the pregnancy rumors. One fan even offered a video of Rihanna grabbing a glass of wine and possibly talking a sip while at the Ball as proof that she's not expecting. Not only that, sources close to the singer turned business mogul told TMZ that "she's not pregnant."

So there goes that rumor!

Rihanna's got a lot on her plate these days, including working on her long-awaited ninth studio album.

On Tuesday (September 10), Entertainment Tonight caught up with Rih at her Savage X Fenty fashion show where she gave fans a two for one, addressing both her highly-anticipated album and if she'd be open to headlining the upcoming Super Bowl LIV Halftime show.

"Actually, this is my first time hearing about the Super Bowl since last Super Bowl," Rihanna replied when asked if she was in talks to perform at the 2020 show since her mentor Jay-Z is now in charge of planning it. "Girl, I still got an album to finish. You're gonna ask about Super Bowl, really? My fans are gonna have my neck." And when asked directly about her album's progress, Rih responded: "Y'all gonna have to wait, Navy, I'm sorry."
